Official stats show that China's civil aviation sector has seen record profits of 55 billion yuan, or more than 8 billion U.S. dollars, during the first eleven months of this year.

The number is up three quarters compared to the same period of last year.

The country's authority on civil aviation also predicted that 440 million trips will be made by air this year.

There have also been no aviation accidents this year so far.
