The November edition of India Market Days was inaugurated, at Apparel House, Gurgaon in presence of EC members of AEPC, international buyers and participants. This is the November edition of the India Market days which will be a two day event from 13th to 14th November 2013.

India Market days will provide an opportunity to analyze and choose, from the wide spectrum of existing and emerging products at one place, analyze prevailing rates in the market, finalise bulk requirements and negotiate best rates for bulk orders. This event will help the garment exporters find the right partners for their business.

Chairman AEPC, Dr. A Sakthivel, in his statement stated that, “AEPC by organizing India Market Days, is once again ready to provide an opportunity and a platform where wonderful products are displayed in the showrooms.  Buyers’ may like to avail this opportunity to choose from the wide spectrum of products at one place. This Fair will help you develop your creative collection and augment your resources.”

“With the stabilization of rupee and structural changes in the competing markets India’s garment exports has significantly improved, our performance is reflected in the stronger order book visibility for this season. Our exports have also grown because of tapping of new markets like Middle East, Latin America, Japan, Russia and Australia and our effort to leverage exports by export promotion events across the world. In recent months large international buyers have diverted orders to India.

“The big brands and international chain stores like GAP, Zara, Mango, Elcorte, Desigual, Tommy Hilfiger, Walmart, H & M, JC Penny, Target, etc are sourcing garments from India. We have good design and raw material strengths and our business is based on exceptional customer service, respect and integrity in the pursuit of mutually profitable outcome.”

Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman Export Promotion at AEPC lauded the efforts made to help the domestic exporters and the state of art exhibition halls that Apparel house provides. India Market days will provide an opportunity to analyze and choose, from the wide spectrum of existing and emerging products at one place, analyze prevailing rates in the market, finalise bulk requirements and negotiate best rates for bulk orders. It is good news that from the last seven months garment exports are registering robust growth, buyers across the world are seeing India as a dependable country for sourcing the garments.

Shri Pritam Goel, EC Member AEPC, during his address stated that “Market Days is one of the endeavors for AEPC’s export promotion initiatives for the year 2012-13 wherein we are hopeful that the apparel exporters will generate good business deals with buyers from the continent countries. Another set of Market Days will be organized in the month November, 2013”. The event will help the garment exporters find the right partners for their business. Through Apparel House, we have provided them with the well spaced showrooms wherein they can interact and negotiate good business.

Shri Lalit Thukral, Senior Vice- President Apparel House Exporters Association & Convener Apparel Mart Apparel Market Days remarked that, I am happy to note that AEPC is taking concrete and planned steps to promote the Apparel House by holding regular India Market Days I am sure India Market Days will be useful for both buyers and sellers in growing their own business.

The product profile of the event covered the entire value chain of the textile and clothing industry and included the following: Blouses, Casual Wear, Children’s Wear, Co-ordinates, Denim Wear, Infants’ Wear,  Knitwear, Ladies Wear, Men’s Wear, Shirts, Shorts, Silk Garments, Skirts, Suits,  Sweat Shirt, T-Shirt, Trousers, Vest, Cocktail Dresses, Evening Dresses, Bodysuit, Brief, Home Wear, Fashion Jewellery, Men’s Underwear, Nightwear & Pajamas, Outerwear, Pareos, Scarfs, Stoles, Handbags, Cushion covers, bed covers, fabrics, etc.

In order to boost Indian exports of garments and fashion accessories, more than 100 show-room holders are going to exhibit their latest collections to buyers from countries like Greece, Australia, Botswana, South Africa, Ecuador and USA. Some of the leading buying agents will be visiting India Market Days.

Exhibitors/ showroom holders are from cities like Jaipur, Gurgaon, Noida, New Delhi, Ludhiana etc. Buyers from Japan, Hong Kong, Turkey, USA, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Greece etc visited the India Market Days fair.

It also includes: Z&L EUROPE CORP of Argentina Advance Apparel USA, Indigo Global of Poland,  Sun Textiles of Polandm Wandering Sage of USA, Sariko of Slovenia, Al Safeer Group of  UAE, Cortefiel of Spain, etc. The last India market days which were held in the month of September 2nd- 3rd 3013, generated a business of US $ 305100.

India Market Days is a project approved by Ministry of Textiles and is funded under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government ofIndia for inviting overseas buyers and buying agents under Reverse BSM. The next edition of IMD will be from 23rd to 24th January 2014 at Apparel House Gurgaon.
