Japan Iron and Steel Federation compiled the Trade Statistics released from the Ministry of Finance into the table as attached hereto with regard to Japan's exports of stainless steel products during October 2012.

Total exports in October were 103,336 tonnes, up 2.1% from September in a continued recovery from the drop in August.

Comparison with September by destination shows

China: up 7.2%

Korea: up 26.9%

Taiwan: up 32.3%

USA: down 17.0%

Thailand: down 49.0%

Exports to Thailand sharply dropped while those to Korea continued increasing. Total exports to other destinations than the listed in the attached table were 37, 364 tonnes, up 7.1% from September.

Total value of the exports in October was USD 440.674 million. The averaged unit price on all the exports was USD 4,264 per tonne, down slightly 0.6% from the preceding month.

Total exports of special steel products including SUS products in October were 656,727 tonnes, up 2.8% from September. Exports of special steel products "excluding" SUS products were 553,391 tonnes, also up 3.0% from September. Both recovered from the drop in September.
